Default Misfire at 1500 rpm

Hi guys, I have a 90 Automatic. Revs great at all rpms EXCEPT 1400-1600 rpm. I get a bad misfire and is most noticeable in first geat but can be felt in other gears if cruising at a slow speed.
It really makes the car hesitate when starting from a stop. Pretty annoying. It DOESN'T have this problem when in cold start mode though. So I'm guessing it's a fueling problem relating to an electrical part.

Anyone ever heard of this? It's distinctly a 1500 rpm problem. There is nothing else wrong with the car.

For a test, disconnect the vacuum line to the EGR valve to see if it goes away.

Hey, that worked!
Now what? New EGR? I'd leave it like this but the check engine light comes on now.

That was just a test. Your EGR valve is good. Your EGR ports need to be cleaned out, someone posted a how-to a while back.

Hey, my car stutters sometimes and I'm wondering if we're actually having the same problem. What the hell is the EGR (i can fix just about anything but don't get me to try and tell you the actual name. Ex. "The dohickey connects to this here thingymabober and it causes the car to crank."). What does the EGR do? And where is it located?

Did you clean out the EGR ports going into each individual intake runner?

Exhaust Gas Recirculation

It adds exhaust gas to the intake to dilute the fuel mixture during part throttle and cruise conditions.

you have to drill out the 8 plugs under the fuel rail and clean out the ports, then install new welch plugs in the holes

Well F that. I'm not drilling out anything around any kind of fuel.

I'm paranoid when it comes to electricity and fuel.... eh... should help me live longer.
