I have seen this before with aftermarket or rebuilt boosters, it has to do with the pushrod that goes through the booster not being set to the correct length. Honda has a special tool to set the length of the pushrod or you could get a good used booster that hasn't been messed with.

Does anyone know the length?

The proper length for the pushrod would be in the (helms) factory service manual for your car, but it takes the special honda tool to set it properly. If I were you, I would get a good used booster and return the aftermarket or rebuilt one. You can usually tell a good used booster by if it has good paint on it. Having good paint on the booster means the master cylinder has not leaked into it. It is usually the brake fluid from a leaking master cylinder that causes the booster diaphram to go bad. Be sure to get the used booster from the same year and model as your car.
