Default what could cause major top end loss?

i have a 95 Ls and was always able to reach 125+ in fourth gear but now i'm hitting the rev limiter at 117-119 and fifth is pretty much worthless for power..in the long haul i can only reach
125 and it just doesn't go anymore, no limiter in fifth just no more power.. i have had this car up to 140.. so just curious if anyone can give me some advice on what may be causing this??

thank you

There could be so many different reasons your car has a big lost in power. I mean millions. No one can say what that reason is or reasons are.
I would really like to know how it is possible that your car could go 125 in 4th and now you are only hitting 117 before rev limit. I'm presuming you are judging this from your OE speedometer and tach. I'm guessing you are getting some false readings out of one of those.
