Default 30000 miles on lsvtec

It is the 30000mile birthday for my lsvtec steup. people claim that they are so unreliable well i beg to differ. i have a bone stock ls block b18a1 very old never did anything to it. i have a 93 b16a2 head and all the bolt ons. i have had it for alittle over a year and have been pounding very hard miles on it. i drive everyday. the only problems i have had with it are a few oil leaks one from oil pan and one from the head but i actually think the head mabe warped. i have raced it more then i can count, i take it to 8 grand once a day. i am planning on retiring her this week becuase i am to lazy to fix gaskets, plus i got a steal on a b20b with not even 35k on it. so soon we will see what the next frankenstien has to offer. just thought i might give my experience becuase i always see people asking. so to all of you it is a very good swap and makes a little more power then a gsr swap.it is very inexpensive and alot of fun. so lets hear some other good stories about honda's bastard motors

i used a b18a1 block which had to have well over 100000 on it. i have a leak from my oil pan gasket and had one on the headgasket but changed it a while back and used copper gasket spay and it took care of that. i did no prep at all on the besides the oil line. i used a p30 that came chipped. i am going to be doing a b20vtec next week just waiting on all my arp bolts my head gasket and hondata intake manifold gasket. like i said before nothing was done to the motor just put the head on the block.

not trying to start a fight but you are 1 in 100. i know a b20 vtec that did 30k miles and ROAD raced (honda-challenge) till it finally let go after a turbo was put on.

the MAJORITY of LS/B20 Vtec's have problems. weather it be from user error, abuse or bad luck.

i know but IM telling people that you are 1 in 100 for reliability.

think of the ford explorer. they ALL didnt rollover on the freeways. but just because you may own one that didnt, dosent mean its any better than the others.

i understand where you are coming from i just made a post to try to get one lsvtec post going instead of 3 different ones everyweek. plus all you ever hear is negative things when you hear lsvtec so i wanted to put some positive things up
