what computer to use for 1991 acura integra with a b16 vtec?
For starters, I want this car out of my garage! It is one of my friends, he has a 1991 Acura Integra which had a 1.8l dohc and they have installed a b16a 1.6l dohc vtec in it, it has a manual tranny. The ecm they got for it is a p28 which I already installed a chip **if any one can use this please let me know-it has a mugen chip for vtec kick in at 4000**. I need to find out if there is any ecm that will plug into that car to run the motor with a vtec without having to rewire the harness.
thanks

There are a few things you need to take into consideration.
Im assuming you probably used the obd0 engine harness that came off of the stock b18; if that is the case then your motor is setup for obd0. The p28 is an obd1 ecu. To use the obd1 ecu you need a 4 wire o2 sensor, obd0-obd1 harness, obd1 dissy and the obd1 ecu which you have already.
In your case it would be easier to just buy a obd0 ecu. Consideration obd0 vtec ecu are all jdm; they can get kinda of pricey. But it could/should be cheaper to do this rather then buying all the stuff to switch over to obd1
Now if your just trying to get the car out of the garage-from whave Ive heard you should be able to use the any ecu as long as it plugs in to the harness. Dont drive the car all crazy but if your just trying to move it from point a to point b, Ive heard it works. BUT IMO; I WOULD NOT DO THIS it sounds way to risky!
I hth; and hope I didnt confuse you
