Default jdm itr tranny 4.785

I drive 97 GSR:
dc header
aem cai
full greddy sp exaust
act hdss
act 12.5lbs flywheel

will i be finishing the quatermile in 4th gear? Gsr's already just barely hit 4th at the end of the quater mile but wouldnt this mean ill be in 4th way before i cross the line?...meaning ill be out of my powerband?

Also i've heard of people swapping GSR 5th gear for highway driving. Is this something that will be worth time and money?? This car is daily driver and gas is also a big factor now.

the jdm itr tranny has the same fifth gear as the gsr and us itr. it's the 4th gear you are talking about that you want to switch, but not for the reason you want if you switch jdm 4.7 itr 4th gear and us itr 4.4 then you will have one of the nicest auto x trannies ever..
