Default D14 motor with y8 intake manifold - which cold air intake?

I have just ordered an 96-98 D16Y8 intake manifold to put on my EDM D14 motor. My stock manifold is exactly like the USDM D16Y7 one. Right now I have an AEM Cold air intake from an DX. As far as I have seen on pictures the AEM EX CAI will not fit on my motor because the pipe goes through the fender on top. And I donīt want to drill an hole in there. Any opinions on this? Or should I go for an short Ram Intake?

K&N Drop-In filter.
Generic Short-Ram intake pipe.
Removed Resonator.

Enough said.

drill a hole for it to pass through into the fender-bumper area. Its the best way but I think the gsr is also like that (no hole)

I think Iīll go for an AEM Short Ram intake. I donīt want to drill a hole and I donīt have the stock EX Air Box, so I cant use a K&N drop in filter. And the best thing is that I can get the Short Ram Street legal with ... some cheating Things in Germany are a little bit different than in the US. If you are pulled over by the police you can get serious trouble just because of an Ait Intake
