azenis?? need some advise...
what up guys...i have a b20vtec 97 hatch. weighs about 2450. i run consistant 2.16-2.20 60ft's on my bald bridgestones but i spin 2nd pretty hard as well as 3rd. i am not making much power i would say approx. 175whp. i dont know if i should get the azenis (98$ for both shipped) or fork out the dough and pay double for the G forces which are well over 200 plus shipping. i have HX wheels on my car. so i would need 14's. what do you guys suggest i do? i know the bfg's wear out fast. i would be using these on the street as well. i want a little more traction off the line to get close to 1.9 60 foot times and also i think my times are struggling a bit because of my traction loss when shifting. here is my run as is.
13.801 @ 99.98 MPH
2.18 60'
what do you guys suggest i do?

if you are cutting consistant 2.1s on bald tires now, i dont think the azenis will do much for you. just step it up a notch and get the bfgs. they do not last long, but ultimatley to cut a better 60 foot sacrifice and do it right the first time or buy a pair of slicks for just the track.

Nitto 555's and Nitto 555R's are 2 completely different tires!
555's = street tire
555R's = more on the lines of a street drag tire with a softer compound
slicks = for those who want good times

from my personal experience:
the 14" Nittos are better than the 15" becuz they have more sidewall, higher profile. they held me down pretty well back in the day (3yrs ago) when i was not making that much power. on the street they performed well but at the track they sucked really bad. i was runnning high 13's @ about 108mph. i would spin'em in 1st and 2nd gears. these last a long time and are great for daily driving.
i had 15" Azenis last summer on stock B16 motors on Boost. they were ok for the street but again they sucked at the track. i ran a low 13 spining all 1-3rd gears. i tried to adjust my launch but they spin a great deal. these are decent for daily driving and hold up pretty well (tread wear) when used daily.
225/50/15 G-Force are the best drag radial i've used so far. they perform well for daily driving except that you have to make WIDE turns and they wear EXTREMELY fast. my best 60fot was a 2.0 and i ran a 12.5 on these.
G-Force are the best for track and weekend street racing, hands down. spend the money and you will not regret it.

In my experience, Azenis suck for the strip. Although they're super sticky for the corners, the tire's sidewall is extremely stiff which works against you when launching your car.
Go with some slicks and don't look back
