I have a Razo shift light. It has 2 lights on it, one green one red. It can be set to indicate power band. For example, if rpm drops below 5800 rpm the green light comes on; if rpm raises above 8400rpm the red light comes on. It hooks up to the ECU to get signal.

It's a great tool to learn a new track:
When I take a turn with 3rd gear and the green light comes on, I know that I need to drop down to 2nd next time I take this turn in order to stay within the powerband.
When I take a turn with 2nd and the red comes on, I know that I could stay in 3rd next time I take this turn so that I would not over rev.

I remember at a car show I saw one flush mounted where the cruise control would be. I didnt know they fit it there, looked odd. Can you guys post pics of where you mounted yours? I'm thinking of a shift light myself.

check my sig, i just have the light no tach, no need for a tach when the car has one already.

let me tell u this its an excellent training tool, ive used the light so much that now my brain is prgrammed to shift at that rpm,no lie. plus it helps to keep your eyes on the road.

also at whatever point you like to shift at set it 200 rpms lower, reason is by the time you react to the light 1 second has paassed by (not exactly but you know what i mean) so if you set it at redline u will bounce off the limiter trust me. my gsr engine falls off at 7600 rpms althogh it redlines at 8000 rpms i have mine set at 7400 rpms.

I say get one. That was one thing I found hard to do while driving an modded Integra Type R. That sucker revs so quick you have to look down at the tach a lot. Well at least I did. Coudn't hurt if anything right?

Here's what I did with mine... Unfortunately, it doesn't work right now so I need to get out the paperwork and see if it is still covered under warranty.

try that when your up the *** of another car in front of you, or in some fast turns. the light helps you keep your eyes in front and not watching the tach.

bob maybe the bulb needs changing, check that 1st. plus your connections,fuses,etc...

ian<--- just look at the tach eh? easier said than done when your flying at 8000 rpms! remember it only takes a split second before somehing can happen, plus if im 1/2 to 1 sec quicker than my openent cause im not staring or even glancing down at my tach that means everything!

Yep, already did that...got a circuit tester and found that there is power all the way up to the shift light, and the bulb works fine... As for fuses, I don't think there are any. It is connected directly to the battery, and I wired a switch to it, which checked out okay. It's got to be the circuit board in the shift light...

You think you could fit one of those into that little area to the left where the cruise button should be?

Probably not....but there is a smaller version of that shift light... I wouldn't want it way down there though. It needs to be in your line of sight when you're driving. I think it is pretty well blocked by the steering wheel in the cruise button location.

Hmm, dang it. I dont like the idea of just having it sitting up there. Gives punks another reason just to shatter my windows!
