WTF! my car is 1/2 accord?!
well this is the situation. i take my car to honda to get the front axles replaced and they call me and tell me they cant because the right driver side of my car has different suspension. im like.. huh? and they say that its not prelude suspension, its accord or some **** , and the rotor isnt a prelude rotor either so its an inch smaller. at this point im getting real pissed off because ive had hte car for over 2 years and never found out until now, when i have to replace a crucial part of the car
so yes. i have to pretty much buy whole new everything on the right side, upper control arm, knuckle, rotor, and aside from that my endless pads are being unevenly worn because the rotor is too small on that side, so they will soon by unusable when i get the new rotor ! GAH!.
but the thing is the noise the axles were making is gone for now .. either way ima have to fork out some cash, gota find it used, because new they will cost like 1500 CDN
sorry about the rant, had to vent because this is a very lame situation for me .

The 4th generation lude is very similar to the Accord. The frame was shortened about 6 inches, I believe, and a lot of parts are interchangable. In some ways, it's good, as parts are a little cheaper, but in other ways, unscrupulous dealers like the one you dealt with will take advantage. Sorry what happened to you. Hope you get it sorted out eventually.
damn...
you haven't had any problems with the front of the car for the last 2 years? try and look on the bright side, maybe the car will be even better when you change all this stuff.

WOW, I think i had a dream about this a couple of days ago. HAHA That's weird, oh yeah sorry to hear that man. True that Matgallis, I think you should have a little talk with the previous owner if you know what i mean.
k i have a few quesitons abotu you guys . the guys at honda said they couldnt change the 2 cv shafts/axles because of the accord pards. im thinking they are bsing me because how are the existing cv shafts ont here right now then lol ? so questions one: can i use the prelude cv shafts with the accord knuckle and control arm? and question 2: can i use a prelude rotor on the accord parts?
plus im gona take it to my mech to see if i really do need cv shafts nbecayse the noise is gone now lol

and yea i was thinking about aftermarket parts, but i dont think there are any aftermarket sbsitutues for the control arm and knuckle .. ill probly get new rotors tho
ya the cars been working the whole time, i just need to know if i can use the prelude cv shaft and prelude rotor with the accord suspension parts so i dont have to spend a wad of cash
I think the shop may not know what they are talking about... What exact parts are they claiming are accords? Do you have a rotor over hub setup (take off wheel and caliper and you can slide off the rotor) or a retarted hub over rotor that accords got? that would determine what rotors you can use. but the cv shafts should work perfectly fine whichever you have.
go to slhondaparts.com .. and start comparing part numbers.
i think the accord axles are the same as the prelude ones.
and that is why so much of the suspension is interchangable, they are very similiar cars , so i belive the dealer ship that you are working with are trying to get some more $ out of you.
or they are trying to not have it be a liability, because sure they can replace the axle and leave the suspension half assed on there, but if something goes wrong down the line and you get hurt, they will be liable because they were the people that worked on it last and let it pass. so they are probably covering their ***/ trying to make money

they said the control arm , knuckle, and rotor are supposedly accord parts. but they said the wheel hubs arent prelude ones. anyways the car seems fine now, the clicking and noise is gone and everything. but im gona be getting some rotors anyway
