Is my car slow? *vid*
I recently ran at the local drag, and am very disapointed with how my car is running. Compared to other cars, it seems fast, but when I run it on the track it sucks. Here's the setup:
2000 civic SiR (cdn)
stock internals
8.5 psi
AEM EMS
street rubber
2 1/4" exhaust
2.5" dp
I ran a 14.7 as a best so far, but in that run I hit fuel cut in 1st, and trapped at 95 mph. last year my best trap was a 98..
someone suggested that it may be due to the exhaust, but I don't see it being that much of a problem. The ecu is tuned as well, even 12:1 all the way to redline, and no knock that I can see. Just watch the video and post wether the thing seems slow for 8.5 psi, and the setup that I'm running.
thanks

60 ft:2.357
launch at 4900 (played between 3600 to 5700, 4900 seemed the best
shift at 8k (I have my fuel cut at 8100)
I tuned it with a wideband (techedge).

your o to 60' time is slow, i had a small greddy kit with 7 pounds no EMS and hit 14.7 in colorado. your 60' time should be in the 1.7 to 2.0 times. And you should also dyno it. i own AEM and you can't tune it well even with a wideband because the engine load on the steet is not nearly as consisant as a dyno. If your car is lowered try getting a camber kit and setting every thing to 0 with a little bit of toe in. with AEM you should be able to get every bit of power from 8.5 pounds. Also try setting VTEC lower like to 5100. Let me know if any of this helps.

huh, I knew my 60 ft times were ****...looks like that's half the problem. I'll look into getting it on a dyno as well, I thought I could get away with not needing one, but seems I do
but, can anyone just watch the video and tell me if the car seems slow? that's the main reason I posted

cause last year we were pretty even adn I pulled 14.1@98 last year too.
do a comp test?
it probably just needs to be tuned better! (yeah i know..bleh)
dyno it!

2000 si coupe... i ran a 14.75 on drag radials with a 2.2 constant 60 foot, 2.1 best, 93 mph or so and a 1/8 mile best of 9.321, and i only had about 165 hp at the time.(in that car). my friend with 185hp hatch on slicks with a b18c ran a 13.15, (first time ever racing at the track, ever), 20 more hp, 20 ft lbs of tourqe more also, made a 1.6 seconds difference, (and slicks for the first time ever).

just because i have only 3 post doesn't mean ****. i think you need to check yourself before you wreck yourself fool. ive been in the seen for 5 year and ran a 12.5 on 11lbs last wensday.AEM aint **** ive spent over 10 g's on my build, 1500 bucks aint nothing in comparison. Bring your **** to CO and then well talk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!you f*&^$*g idiot
stock???????????????why the hell do yo bother???????????????all you guys dont understand the 0-60ft I guess. I just ran my car this wednesday and got a 1.7 0-60 consistant on 8 runs. Using BFG Drag radials_________________whats going on People-----------------------launching is KEY!
first of five years aint ****, kid, and how old are you anyway, i mean what grade are you in? and the money you've invested is the starting point, i've put 20-30 grand in my car as a whole, well over 10 in the motor, and you dont see me acting like a dick. who do you think you are jesse james, you dont get respect like that talkin ****, you just sound like an ***. how old are you again? and where the **** is co, is it in f your sister u.s.a.? come to d.c., maryland and see how long that uptite b.s. talk lasts when your car, though it is nice, and fast, is considered average or less around here. average or less... think about that. just cus you think your straight where your at, you need to think of a national picture when you talk **** on a national platform, kid. And to the original post, dude your times ok, a little practice, and work on your 60ft, you'll improve. your still not half way done with the motor yet.
I think something is seriously wrong because I've driven a bone stock Si-R at St. Thomas and clicked off a mid-15 with it. It might have somthing to do with tuning or something. Don't expect to pull 1.7 60fts on street tires or even slicks with an open diff and the amount of power that you are making. 2.0 to 2.2 on street rubber and maybe a 1.9 on slicks.
