Hi. I'm new to the Import Scene here in Nevada. I just got my license and my car. A friend of mine says that having a cold air intake, headers, exhaust, etc., is all illegal, but I see it on the streets all the time and I don't see cops pulling them over. And I even see stores selling it. I know this post is probably in the wrong forum too, so please take it easy on me, I'm new to the scene . I just wanna know if my friend is right or not. He says short ram is not illegal but cold air is. Can someone please help. Thank you.

 

well thats why they have emission tests...most parts will say if they are carb legal or not though.

 

im not to sure about nevada...but i have never heard of a CAI being illegal, as long as it is a legit one like AEM...and of course, all ur stuff has to pass the emissions tests...if there is any of that in nevada...

as for the exhaust...i think that will be more of a noise concern...you know, noise pollution...

and i have to agree, u r young...one piece of advice...just cuz you see it on the streets, does NOT mean it is legal...and all the stuff in the stores you see...always check for that fine print that says, "Not for street use!"
