In what year Prelude did the H22 start being used ?

In 1992 the 2.2L came out in the US, and the VTEC 2.2 came out in Japan
In 1993 the US VTEC 2.2 came out

not all prelude had them though so becareful. Youwill most likely end up with an h23

Where exactly is the H22 designation ( or whatever you call it ) located on the block ( or anywhere else ) I can tell it's an H22 ?

yeah make sure it says DOHC and then VTEC in big *** letters under the DOHC

or you can take it for a spin and once you get pushed back on the driver's seat at around 5k rpms then you know you have a vtec powered engine.

The stamp should be like this, but if its USDM, there is a number behind the "a"
