Default my car at the brink of overheating

i've noticed recently that when i am driving somewhere and stop at a red light or anywhere for more than a few seconds, my temperature gauge steadily increases until its right below the red mark. what do you guys think it could be? i checked the coolant resevoir thing behind the passanger headlight and its full. i checked the coolant hoses and i dont see any leaks. i don't run with AC on and it happens whether I just got off the freeway, got off work and am waiting at a red light, or dropping off a friend in front of somewhere. what could be possible problems? radiator? thanks for your help!

I would start the motor let it idle ans PLEASE watch the temp gauge and just see if the fans turn on. If they do the fan switch is good.

Then if you are POSITIVE you have enough coolant and no leaks try to bleed the coolant because it might just be a bubble.

Next is whenyou just change the thermostat. After that it gets expensive.

Please dont let your motor overheat I accidently did it not paying any attebntion and cracked my old h22 block!

Turn your heater on and see if you get hot air blowing out.

hot air comes out for sure, but if i turned on the AC..hot air comes out for maybe a minute then it starts to get cool..then eventually cold. before, it would just be cool right away

check behind your engine and see if you have coolant leaking out from around the water pump. it's on the driver's side.

check the lines going to your heater core. are you sure that your coolant is ok? Check the coolant level, when the car is cool.

Is the lower radiator hose hot or cold when car is at normal operating temperature? If it's cold then your thermostat is not working.
