93 Civic Moldings at top of door pannel... paint is coming off; HELP!?
Ok, on my 93 civic sedan... i have these door moldings at the top of the panel. Basically the paint is old and starting to chip off like crazy. I tried painting them before (no idea what i used) but that has already come off...
Any paint recomendations?? and also does anyone know any topics that have been on HT about how to even go about getting these bad boys off??
here's a pic

i've used duplicolor paint on a variety of things and its been holding up good (given that you proper prepped and primered the surface beforehand). also, for something like that, i'd recommend just replacing it. majestichonda.com or your local dealer should have replacement parts
I did my crx moldings with bumper trim paint ! works amazing !
Make sure you clean the surface with rubbing alcohol and make sure it is dry before sprayng the area....
I also used the bumper paint on my wiper arms...looks like new !
Post here to let me know how it works.

buy a new onefrom honda, and you'll understand how they come off by looking at it.

wow that was soooooooooo helpful......
i'll just spend $60 on something that i don't need just in order to "understand" how it comes off/goes on
does this seem 'not-smart' to anyone else?

Im not to sure where to get this at, but a buddy of mine has the same problem. But instead of taking it all off, and sanding it down, and all that, they make a type of tape, sorta like electrical tape but with that type of texture to it. Try pepboys, or autozone, etc. and see if they have it. I will talk to my buddy and see what he has.
