ummm i have 3 piezo sirens i bought mine at radioshacki beleve its cat # 273-079.. its a very annoying high pitch sound,, louder then others ive seen.... is it worth it.. hell yeah.. with a backup battery... when cops impounded my car.. 3 weeks later the sirens were still going off. they cut the main horn but couldnt find all the small sirens in and outside of the car.

Depending on your alarm you might not want them going off the same time as your main siren. eg if you have an alarm that chirps when you haven't shut the door you may deafen your passengers when you get out.

To get around this you can wire it up so the piezo sirens only come on when the alarm is armed. Use a relay rigged to your immobilizer.

they will be on a seperate relay, and as of now, my alarm is not set to passive.

I'm really wondering about backing up the sirens though, is it possible?

p.s. how loud are these sirens ! really!

Im not to good at wiring things. basicly i just wired the sirens into the siren that came with the alarm. except i ran seperate wires from the brain. so there are just afew extra wires here and there.. I probably hooked up my back up battery up ghetto or incorrectly. but i just wired a 12 volt battery.. the ones used for alarms for buildings near the brain into the pos and neg. of the alarm.
i recall the sirens were some were around 120 db. if someone sits in my car for i would say 30-60 sec probably get a headache from the tone it puts out. buy one and try it out.
p.s. the radioshack ones are a bit louder (square box thing) then the others ive seen.
