Default Can anyone help with a rear windshield wiper problem?

I don't know what it's called, but the **** that squirts out the window cleaner decides to leak sometimes, the one that's above the rear window. I'll be driving really fast, then when I park I'll notice that it's leaked the cleaner. It leaves a stream of water down my window. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is it normal for this to happen while driving really fast? Thanks for the help in advance.

I believe the part is called a rear windshield washer fluid nozzle, and if not, it should be.

If you are only having it spray all over the window after you just used it, then that's normal because the fluid was already sucked back there and since you want a constant flow and not just a drop............ drop............ drop, the fluid has to be there the entire length of the tube, going from the front of the car where the windshield washer fluid reservoir is all the way to the back where the nozzle is. Some of the remaining fluid that's sitting toward the end of the tube is going to get sucked out and sprayed all over. Furthermore, the faster you drive, the more gets out of the tube. When it happened to me before (current car has the nozzle on the bottom of the windshield), I just wiped it again and it was fine.

However, if you haven't used the windshield washer fluid for the back window in a while and it still leaks, then that's actually a problem and the leak needs to be traced down perhaps by taking stuff apart and finding out what the problem is.

If you feel industrious, I believe there is a check inline that you can replace that keeps the washer fluid from getting sucked out under acceleration, my CRX Si does it all the time. Not worth all the work to replace it IMO. Just turn the rear wiper on again.
