Default Limited slip diff question

Would a limited slip diff make a difference for autox? If so, which brand. In addition, I take my car to open track events and I'd like to know if it will affect its perfomance.

Yes, HUGE difference. Quaife, OPM, Mugen, ATS, choose ur poison. It will make a big improvement on open track as well.

Search the archives for LSD. there's TONS of info in there...

It would also throw you into SM or a prepared class, which might make you completely uncompetitive, depending on the level of modifications to your car.

That's OK, I run in FSP class which allows LSD, thank you for the advice.
I'll do a search to find one for my car.
Are any of the brands better than others? Which one is the most reliable?

Pardon my ignorance. Aren't the stock LSD for type-R are Torsen type? If it is, what's the advantage of changing it to quaife?

the ITR unit and the quaife are both gear type helical LSD's, and are both decent units. The quaife engages smoother though, and is warrantied for life. i'm not sure whether the ITR unit can bias as much torque as the quaife, but having driven cars with both, i can say that they're both worthwhile, and the ITR unit alot cheaper.

This is good for autox and/or HPDE/TT?
Any advice where to buy from?
