Default Small Update on my accident... if ya care.

Going back almost a month now... May 6th this happened : https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=857505

I finally got word from the Body shop that the adjuster came down and in 20-30 mins wrote up an estimate for 1,9xx almost 2k in damages.

Now I just have to wait for the check to come and the work will start.

If your wondering why this took so long, I can't answer that, other then say they drag their feet really bad.

I just hope this fuggin check gets to me soon, I'm starting to think the AE86 is quick

Sounds like you didn't have to go through too much hassle, other than the waiting period

Should be interesting to see how long the process takes for me. I just filed a claim on Wed., and I see the adjuster on Monday. I've already gotten a couple estimates -- only ~$1650.00. Wonder how long it will take, and whether the ins. co. cuts me or the body shop the check.....

Mmmm deer flesh

lol it can be quick. With a 4AG 5 valve motor in it and with Toda stuff in the motor or turbo or just do a S2000 motor. hehe
But is good to see that they finally going to fix it.

Wow that took a long time.
I was in an accidnet like 3 weeks ago in my Audi. The dmage was 8,xxx. I had a check less than a week after the accident. Since then there has been more damage found. over 10 grand now.

all depends on what insurance company is handling the claim.

through someone else's State Farm account I was able to see a check for $1500 after being bumped into on GSP in 1 1/2 week turn around time from time of accident to me receiving fundage. I did inititate the claim almost immediately after picking up the police report and got my witness statements in order as well as all their contact information.

another time through All State I got the run around because they kept on insisting they only pay for used parts and would only cover this and not that. those were some fun phone conversations.

personally I have Prudential and my first accident I was ever in, other party was paid within 2 weeks. another time through them on my parents car, again within 2 weeks.

Just a bit more info for ya...

I went to the body shop today to get a copy of the Ins estimate and this is what they wrote up, tell me what ya think?

I also called the Ins Co and they said it will be atleast 2 more weeks before they send out the check to me, and then the shop said about a week to get my car done

I call these bastards 2 times a day for the past month and nothing seems to get them to move faster :angry"

Anything to watch out for while they fix the caR?

Good luck on getting the R back on the road. I would be watching the shop work on your car like a hawk if I were you just to make sure no corners are cut and everything is done proper. I work with insurance companies all the time and they do take forever to send people money but good luck with the repair

wow that's some cheap labor/paint prices
charging more than list for oem parts

take the insurance check and get the parts yourself. you'll be able to pocket a couple hundred very easy.

I got into a shouting match with an Allstate claims adjuster in the middle of his office because of this. I was hit by an Allstate policyholder, and they refused to use new parts. They only caved when I offered documentation that the bumper on my car was less than 18 months old, thanks to some other asshat running me over

Since insurance laws and terms are typically more the result of state legislature than the companies themselves, and vary greatly, I try not to call out individual insurance companies.

But Allstate sucks donkey ****. At least when it comes to claims.

Have your insurance company sue them. If you file a claim with them, they will sue. The risk is that your rates may increase if you lose.

I should not have to worry about anything on this, I was clearly rear ended. but yet these stupid people don't know anything about the law.

Look up the statute on being rear-ended (failure to maintain assured clear distance, etc.) and bring it with you.

always remember that when given an estimate by a bodyshop, they will increase their labor rate and other things. Im sure the bodyshop will agree to do the work for what the insurance adjuster approves. As long as your car gets fixed , is all that it matters. An also that is true not all insurance companies required to pay for new parts.
