obd-0 to obd-1 for ls vtec
do i need to convert to obd-1 for a ls\vtec build.........also i've heard its better to run a knock sensor with ls vtec......im confused though i thought obd-1 doesnt read knock sensor....someone explain this to me i'm a newbie
you dont have to upgrade to obd1 for lsvtec...although for a while, I had issues running a PR3/stage2 hondata (obd0) combo. But once you get it tuned right, it works fine. About the knock sensor, you have to run a knock sensor (obd0). Depending also on what ecu you plan on using. Hondata need knock sensor on obd0 but not on the newer ones, S100 or S200 (obd1).
wire what up? knock sensor? you have to thread a hole on the block (optional)...I did mine close to the oil filter and ran a wire to the ecu...or you can wire it up to your ecu then loop another wire around the knock sensor (threaded part) and ground it somewhere on your block. But make sure that the knock sensor is securely fastened or it'll throw a code.
aight thankx man.......sorry for not asking this before but do just go to a dealership and purchase the whole knock sensor or what i have no clue where i would get one
