1986 CRX AUTOCROSS/IT RACING SUSPENSION SETUP
I am currently racing my 1986 CRX with the Reno,NV region of SCCA in their
Solo II program. My car's engine is stock, but I have stripped the interior and added non-adjustable tockico's and fairly stiff anti-roll bars. I am making the switch to IT racing next year and I'd like to put coil-overs all around. The torsion-bar setup in the front prohibits me from doing that as it has no upper A-arm, and people tell me that no one makes a conversion kit. please tell me their wrong and who makes a good kit for my car.

The torsion bar front suspension can't be replaced with a coil spring setup, but you can upgrade torsion bars. Stock is 17mm I believe, and the stiffest made is 29mm I think. 29mm is close to 500lb/in springs in front. If you don't want to go that stiff, I know they make many other sizes. You can use coilovers in the rear, and use different spring rates there.
