Any idea on costs of damage
$200-350- If you have them sand it down all the way and repaint it, including labor costs.
$Cheaper- Sand it down yourself and primer it with the correct color under the silver, then take it to a local body shop for repainting.
Good Luck...Hope the ideas help...

take off the bumper
sand down with some 400~350 depending on how deep scratches are, do lower grit
then go higher sanding the area, up to 550,
then lastly up to 600,
not hard, and use a 2x4 to back the sand paper, dont do it wit your hand, youll leave swirls so use a block
take it to a local body shop, ask them if it would be ok with just some paint on top, if they say it needs work, ask where and what you need to do since you are trying to do some DIY body work, if they insist on doin the work, let em do it for about 100/150 for paint and lets say another 50-75 for work if a lot is needed
well good luck
peace

i would sand down the area that is damaged and about an inch into the area that is not and just primer that section with like a gray primer.. but i dont really know much about it.. i would use like a 400 ish grit to start and then like 600 then like very fine wetsand.. and then like wetsand the primer.. but like i said im not big into bodywork

By your statement, we're assume you are familiar with the restoration rates for body shops in Florida.
And what praytell is the good painted can that you are referring to?

I don't actually work there, but yeah they do an awesome job. They actually do all the work on the Tampa Bay Bucs/ Devil Rays cars. I don't know if you've heard of Blvd. Customs from St. Pete (a lot like West Coast Customs) but they do the paint work for Blvd. also.
They sand, primer, paint, clear, and blend so that it looks like it was never in an accident.
Try and talk to some people, you should be able to find a body shop that isn't expensive and does great work.

LOL....I found this shop by word of mouth.
They are a 3 person shop that does awesome work, and now because of their good work they have hired 4 more people and have done Lambos/Ferraris/Caddies/Bentley/etc, etc, etc. Just try to get some pictures of previous work, or watch them do work.
