Default V-tec does it wear out?

I would like to know whether or not the "kick" of hitting v-tec wears out on more mileage cars.

I ask this question, because I test drove a few Prelude vti-R and found that on some you could really feel when v-tec kicked in at about 6+ rpm.... but on others I couldn't really feel it at all.

When I asked about this I was told that it had to do with the fact that if a car with v-tec is not reved up 2 da point of intializing it...then when you do use it, you won't really feel it.

In other words, the more u hammer the car...the easier it is 2 feel the difference when reachin the point of intialisin v-tec.

Is this true or not???

any response would be appreciated... thnx

If your VTEC solenoid wasn't functioning I guess VTEC could wear out, but where is the vti-R sole?

No...VTEC is not a watermarker and it does not wear out...it can be damaged though..

here as some reasons why you may be experiencing what you're experiencing.

1. VTEC only kicks in when the engine is up to temperature.
2. VTEC are more pronounced on cars with modified intakes and/or exhaust.
3. Newer cars are more quieter, especially during break-in periods...

watermarker?
markers that are warter-based as opposed to oil based (which are permanent)
