Default My H22 civic review with Hotshot header

So I finally got my Hotshot header,

my reviews, I was kinda happy and disapointed at the same time, the header looked like a nice peice and it was going to be easy to install. I was wrong.......

I had to modify a header that was designed for a H22 to fit on a H22, kinda disapointing after spending $600cdn, the header would not clear the h22 block or the oil pan, after some "modifying" the header finally fit on, until all the four runners on the manifold, did not mate up to the ones on the downpipe (modifying started again). Then on there website, it says the collector is 3inch when meanwhile it was a 2.5, (I made it 3inch ), I think who ever made this header was either drunk or stoned or something, because there was no way that header was ever test fitted on a H22 motor. So after finally getting it on, the test drive happend, the header seems to pull really good from the low end up to 8000rpm, But I don't like how they use slip fits because those things leak like at champ and is something old school headers usually use, I am just hoping by me putting some Walker exhaust clamps it solves the problem. I will find out how much WHP this thing made when I go to the dyno next week.

Overal review I am kinda disapointed in the hotshot header, but as long as it makes power I am happy.

here are some pics of it finally in the car

It took me a LONG time to get this header because I was getting screwed around from a certain shop that deals with hotshot products, that never got it fot me, then I had to get it from another hotshot dealer which hotshot pointed me to , so by this point and time I was just happy to get the header, and to send it back to wait didn't seem like a solution, because its summer

Did u get a chane to dyno your car with the stock header? I'm surprise u felt an increase in the low end, it was the opposite for me.

Looks good. Here are some old pics of mine a few years ago: http://www.JDMshit.com/hotshot-header/

I never got around to dynoing that car with that setup, but with the headers (running open), stock internals JDM motor, cheezy intake, and Spoon P13 ECU, on 22x7x13 slicks, I was able to hit a best of 12.6 @ 109 mph with a 1.9 60' time. Even with full exhaust, there was a noticable difference over the stock exhaust manifold.

And yes, the design for install was but the results after everything was setup correctly was

Good review.

Track numbers before and after or dynos before and after would make this a complete review.

I think the two big players in the mid-priced H22 header market are the AN-R and the Hotshot. I personally went with the AN-R, but it's still a pretty big debate. You should probably post a link this in the prelude forum and once you get numbers you may be able to add it on to their essential links sticky.

Anyways, good job. It's nice to see that people actually care about giving other people help through well written personal experiences.

Hot shot is a good header in my opinion as far as performance but sucks *** as fare as the design and the company. It is a pain in the *** to put together and sits really low to the ground. Lets put it like this hot shot did not want to warranty a header that they never sent a a warning label with and due to there negligence the header cracked on the runners.

I feel my $600 header was worth it because it makes power from 3000rpm to 7400rpm and I gained 10whp and 9torque better then buying some cosmetic junk like a hood or bumper......
