Here's a question- Why do you hate it so much? Do you just hate it because the majority of the people understand what it does and like the purpose behind it?

vtec is like having a little supercharger strapped onto your motor that's allways there for you.... it's a ingenious design and infact i think a lot of american companies are designing off it..

Quite frankly, I dont care that my car has VTEC. Honda enthusiasts glorify it WAY too much. Toyota doesn't put VVTl-i on the side of their new Celica's do they? Didn't think so....
Ferrari has used Variable Valve timing since the 50's. Toyota since the 80s, now Ford and Honda are on the bandwagon. Sure, the 89 CRX SiR was the first Honda with VTEC, but until just recently (meaning the last few years), VTEC was not that big a deal. Now every ricer in the whole ******* world thinks "if you have VTEC, you must be fast, if you dont, then your car is slow."
And there's the jackassses that say "the replacement for displacement is VTEC"
And I just want to put their teeth through the back of their head.......
VTEC is great and all...but it just doesn't replace displacement. A turbo does hehehehe
I would like to have VTEC because I have never been in a car with it before.
I just think it is glorified way too much. JMO

Since all people notice are the riced out, pop culture, VTEC sticker sportin, ground dragging, to-damn-big wing having, buzz tip blarin, clown cars. They automatically assume that a REAL import enthusiast, is gonna act the same way as some rice fuq'r that hollars VTEC is god all the time.
Yes, VTEC, VVT-I, ZETEC, and the like are all well thought out and designed power enhancing technology, but just becuase a car doesn't have it, don't assuse it's slow, or be prepared to have your *** handed to you on more than one occasion.
Personally, I don't like VTEC, just for the fast that everyone hounds me about my LS swap, i've raced people and they think i've got an ITR motor just becuase my car is so must faster than theirs. I just shake my head and say "LS", and drive off while they look stupified
