I was checking my AEM bypass valve today when I notice one of the small center pieces to be missing. Since it has the little foam filter around it, I'm thinking that it was most likely sucked into the engine. The piece is about 1/2" long and a couple of mm thick. Could this do any serioud damage or will the engine just burn it up? Thanks in advance.
That's not good. If it's that big, it could possibly get stuck in your TB and keep it open. Try taking the aem off to see if it's somewhere in the tube.
I don't have an AEM but I thought that they sent out a bulletin a while back regarding a defect of the bypass valve. The defect is exactly how you described what happened to yours.
Aero - as much **** as I give you, I'm about to give you some sound advice. Get a Comptech Icebox. It will save you the headache. I went rally driving
with mine in Cape Cod and got muddy water spattered all over my engine bay. If I'd had an AEM...I dont even want to think about it.
