Will there be anything on it on Speed channel, like last year?

I am pretty sure the driver was ok. He tank-slapped it a few times, then slid and tipped over in the T10 gravel pit.

Uncle Catch needs to bookmark this as "what not to do."

Kirk

(who is sad that he took the carpet out of his racecar, 'cause now he has to deal with the melty tar under the driver's feet on this fine Saturday)

Is that from qualifying yesterday or something? Race starts in the 20 minutes, I'm trying to get motivated to go up there but it's cold and windy out there, what a weird June day.

I would like to thank the crew of the 48 & 44 for the hard work, late hours and positive response to every situation that occured over the weekend. A special thanks to RJ and Rob T. for giving 120% effort over the weekend.

I'll give a summary of the 44 & 48 teams effort including the problems of getting 93 Octane of pump fuel from Exxon that ended up having atleast 2 gallons of water in it later on today.

Tom Blaney and co. performed very well throughout the weekend. If I'm not mistaken, Tom's team had a great finished and should be commended on their outstanding efforts on his strong running Honda.

The end result for the 911 - Out at the 10th hour mark due to a broken pressure plate. Integra RS - DQ resulting in a auxiliary light infraction while in pit lane with 15 minutes to go in the race after an incident unfortantly taking out Alex's R. strong running SM.

I'll speak more on everything later on. I'll be answering any questions when asked.

Thursday:

SP was rented out for the day. The weather was perfect. High of 79 partly sunny all freaking day long.

In the morning the integra was cycling in brake pads and tires. By mid day to the afternoon the drivers turned the wick up to sort out the suspension settings. After about 5 pit stops the integra was dialed in.

Some last minute stuff was being performed to the 911 back at the shop. No testing on the 911.

The highlight of this day was the shakedown of the 550. A true piece of art with wheels and seeing this baby on a track will be an experience I will always remembered.

The other cars that shared this day was a 993 and a 996 RSR.

Friday:

The weather man was completely off. I guess that 5% chance of rain for the whole weekend came true. This day was calm more of the crew came up and the integra took P7 in qualifying and the 911 took P28th. Qualifiying was held in the rain.

Saturday:
As fate would have it, a demon in the 911 came about during the warmup lap. The fuel we used was 93 octane from Exxon. This fuel was pumped into a 50 gallon drum. The 911 was experiencing power loss. It was found that the 911 was holding 3 gallons of water and 21 gallons of fuel in the fuel cell. After the tests confirmed this, the fuel was bleeded off from the engine under power could we restored.

After an hour of this the 911 returned to the track. 2 laps later the water was still causing some issues. The 911 returned to the paddock and as soon as the driver stepped out of the car... 5 foot flames arose from the rear of the 911. Keep in mind it was been rafning all day. The flames were knocked out. The engine then came to life and the same driver who just stepped out return bravely to the car and ran for a couple of hours. The 911 had to short pit to cycle out the water. Once on track it was the 2nd or 3rd fastest vehicle out of the track.

From Hour 1 to hour 6 the Integra held the highest position of 3rd but we were running in the top 8 until the 9th hour. The auxiliary lights failed after running for 1.5 hours. The crew decided to hard wire the lights to the battery. This worked however we occured penalties for not turning off the auxiliary lights everytime we had to pit.

At the 10th hour the pressure plate on the 911 gave way and retired from the event.

After pit stops and more penalties the integra was set to finish until around 11:45 into the race. Our driver over cooked turn 1 went into the grass on the right side and spun and collected Alex's SM in the process. The integra occured heavy damage and limped around the track to pit which gave us the DQ as we had used up the alloted amount of light infractions we could have in one race.

Overall, this was a fun event. This was great event this year due to the crew. I would like to thank our sponsors Catz HIDS & Leda Suspension for their support on the 12 hour race.

The integra might be totaled. If not, you might see us at VIR.

That show was from the 2002 12 hrs at the point. During the drivers meeting the WDCR officals stated "discussions with SpeedTV about partial live coverage for next year are occuring".

I knocked those flames out. I am soooo proud

I was standing in the pits, looked over in the paddock, double took, asked Pat if they had an extinguisher, and ended up picking one up and running over before he answered.

I had a great time.

Who was the overall winner of the race? I assume one of the ITE cars but I could be wrong, I watched for about 7 hours, was soaked and cold so I went home. Was definetely an entertaining race though, turn 1 was crazy.
