Default What type of Exhaust?

Im looking to put exhaust on my LS...i want a low sound, but not reallly loud. What types of exhaust systems do you recommend? I know thats not a very specific preference...i guess just in general i just want to know what exhausts systems you like the best? And for what reason performance or sound quality?

I'll be nice and help you out, [Search] for future reference. A nice exhaust with a low sound, good quality, good perfromance..............you could go with RS*R or FUJITSUBO........They both sound nice, looks nice, and performs real good

so you want to change your exhaust because you want a low sound?

I used to change exhausts due to rust.

guess times change.

I can't stand loud exhausts, I am totally serious, mine is not loud. Maybe I'm just really deaf. I will let anybody who lives in CO and wants to hear it, listen and see for themselves.

If you want a nice sounding exhaust system that offers performance and doesn't look and sound all ricey I would go with a custom 2.25" mandrel bent system from Kteller8 with a Magnaflow ES oval. Make sure you get a resonator as well.

A lot of these pre-fabricated aftermarket exhaust systems just make your car obnoxiously loud and don't offer much performance.

I can see why would you say that, but not all custom fab'd exhausts work. Lots of times it hurts performance because the person making the exhaust does not really know what they are doing. I know that there are cheap-*** exhaust systems out there but, any real company will and does extensive research and dyno tests to perfect their exhausts for each specific application.

I am hesitant to go with some no name person if they do not have a firm grasp on exhaust flow caristics. It is a science to properly build exhaust.

i'm going to go out on a limb and assume your car is stock...an exhaust is a worthless mod unless you're making enough power to need the added exhaust flow

The easier a engine can flow air the more power it will make. Even stock engines. Air flow is everything.

There's already been threads with this arguement. I'm sorry, but it is not loud at all. Maybe if everyone would learn to just leave the resonator on you won't be as loud and have that raspy sound. I even posted a vid of my n1 so everyone could see.

I kinda agree with this too. You may gain a few ponies after like 5K RPM's but don't expect to notice a difference when your driving around town.
I would spend my money on some cams or something or buy a VTEC head
