Default best track for T&T: Etown, Atco or Island?

question for the local people in the Tri-State Area.

which track is better during a Test and Tune night; Etown, Atco or Island (in Nj) ?

by better, i mean, where can i get the Most Runs and Which is Less Strict?

(i don't have a cage and i don't want to get kicked out )

Going to Etown on a Wed is a waste of time unless you don't mid getting 3 runs within 4-5 hours.

i went to Atco and got 4 runs on a Friday even tho i got there late.

whats your opinion?

I've had good luck with Atco on Thursdays, but only if it doesn't rain on Tues (so the Tues gamblers don't run Thurs). Get there at gates and you'll get 6 runs in. I've gotten up to 14 runs in on a slow night.

Island

You will get many runs in and they are not that strict about cages. Alot of people dont like it because it is in the boonies and everyone is hick. Also the track is old and the pit road is dirt, but for alot of test and tune its worth it.

Atco is a good in between ,t he track actually isnt that bad and you usually get a decent amount of runs in . and the techs arent too bad. Island will let more go and porob get more runs in , but i hear the track is weak . ive never been there though. Etown , just forget it.

You will get anywhere from 8 - 12 runs at Island on a Sunday T&T. I have ran numerous low 11 second passes with no safety equipment over there. They mostly care if you have a jacket and a harness. The bar they are less strict about. Just run an NT on your window and you will be straight.

Island Dragway is the biggest hole.. Sure you can get ALOT of runs in, but the track is pretty gully.. IMO, the worst..

Atco is in the middle, track is a lil better, facility needs work, and u get a decent amount of runs..

Etown isnt the 2-3rd best track in the US for nothing.. Sure its a little crowded, but theres a reason for it. The track prep is great, the facility is nice and The track prep is great

IMO, i rather have a better track prep. I would never go to a crappy track where i could run more then 6 times in one night, you dont want to kill your car.. Unless you have a bracket car, then thats different..

Has anyone ever tryed out the 1/8 mile at E Town. While waiting for the 1/4
mile I see a time pop up on the 1/8 once in a while. If the line is short I'd geuss
this would be perfict to sort out a car.

I live right near maple grove have gone a couple times to test and tune nights just as a spectator and it didn't look bad. track is open from 5-10 on friday nights. I was there on the night before the idrc race and it was pretty packed and etown is just crazy on nights before a weekend of racing. youll get like 2 passes maybe in 4 hours, if you are lucky.

I say that you can't beat island for the fact that it has a decent track surface, and you can get plenty of runs in. Short Shutdown is my only complaint and the reason I will not be runnign there any time soon. For 140 and below stopping is not a problem though. Brian

in my opion you will get most of your runs on test and tune but if you are running into 115 plus the shut down area can get pretty interesting if you are not expecting it( it is very short and bumping) island used to be a go cart track back in the day. my personal favorite for getting runs in and being an okay track is atco but only on certain nights. if you get to maple grove at 4:00 when tech and gates open you will fill your 5 run card right around 8 maybe 9 o'clock but if you get there around 6 or later forget about it. it is way to packed.

persoanlly i'd pick atco. get there when the gates open, and you should gte 5-6 runs b4 it gets busy. also get in line first, always better. the first part of the night you will have hot laps goin, then as it gets busier your car cools down nicely. just dont go on the weekends its $27 for t&t stick to tues, thurs, fri night and you'll be set.
