Default those with comptech ice boxes... got some questions

i bought a used comptech ice box for my 94 RS. all i got was the ice box and the cold-air piece that has the air horn funnel at the end. am i missing another piece to the cold-air ram? i figured it was only an extra piece that connects to the funnel already attached to the ice box.

so i put the ice box on. is it me? or was it a tight fit? i scraped the heck out of the side of the ice box funnel tryin to fit it into the space where its supposed to go. one of the coolant lines is rubbin against it causing all the ugly scrapes when im pushing the funnel into the cramp space. everything fit, but its pretty snug and the coolant line is resting against the top of the funnel where it connects to the ice box. that normal?

another thing is... with the extension piece that connects to the pipe from the ice box, is there another plastic piece that connects the extension pipe? i connected the piece with the air horn to the piece attached to the ice box and i need a clamp or something to hold it in place. if i push it in, its loose and not stable. i tried to use my old hose clamps but its too small. kragen didnt have none either. you think home depot wold have it?

as for the brackets and all the other installation crap, dude didnt have em when i bought it. so far it stays in place pretty cool. i just need to hook up the air horn extension piece to the ice box pipe.

thanks for the info, but im already aware of that. i just found out from comptech that an elbow is not needed if using their filter replacement.

so my question mainly is... did you guys have a problem with fitting the cold-air tube through the space? it rubs pretty bad against the coolant hard line.

It comes with the hose clamp, now pay attention to the directions, if you put the metal bracket on backwards that the tube and clamp attach to it will fall off. It kept on falling off and I looked and it was on backwards, now it's on sturdy as hell.

i dont have the brackets or anything so i dont have to worry about that. haha i need some brackets but comptech was charging $25+ for just the side brackets for the ice box and the hose clamp. sucks.

Just FYI, the lower arm will never fit right and always fall off if the bracket is on backwards. I love the Ice Box though, once fixed the lower tube it became quiet as hel

I feel your pain I did mine at school and used the lift. I had to move those lines over a little bit. I had a hard time getting the tube down there. As for whoever asked about the way VTEC sounds with the short ram, I loved the way it sounded before. Now it is a lot quieter. I can't hear anything really anymore since I got my new exhaust and put the Icebox on. BTW your gonna need to get a bigger clamp since you weren't provided with it from the previous owner. for the previous owner being a clownass.
