Default Valve cover issue

I painted my valve cover on Monday.
It turned out good.
Took it for a drive to make sure valve cover gasket was cool.
The clutch cable rubbed right through the new paint.
It looked like **** again.
I stipped all the paint.
I'm thinking the paint kinda acted like a heat shield.
Is repainting necessary?
I'm worried about overheating the spark plug wires.

no it is not necessary to have the paint/coating on the valve cover . you should be just fine .

I used black wrinkle paint w/ hi-temp primer.
After driving it the valve cover felt way hotter than normal.
My concern is melting some spark plug wires.
It's 100+ out here. It looks good without paint.
I just want to know if it's safe to rock it like dat.
I don't want no problems.
