amuse, or comptech if you want to keep the dual. top fuel if you want single tip style. I really like ARC but it's 2300.00 for like 4whp at the most.

Define best, best sounding, best gains? You won't see any huge gains from any exhaust out there, so a lot of S2k owners just buy for sound. Unless you are going to go FI later on down the road. I would say the best bang for your buck would be Spugen. See here - http://www.teamspugen.com/

I expected this to be an exhaust problem, hence the "help" in the title. maybe you are just asking for advice? anyways... here it goes...

There are three types of exhausts a) quiet, b) loud, c) stupidly loud
C - amuse N1 single most gains, or custom straight out pipe. gains will max around 6-9hp.
B - J's Racing & HKS, a mixture of very few duals but mostly single outs
A - Neuspeed, Spugen (maybe in B?), Comptech, etc. All have VERY little if nothing at all, and some actually lose power.

Visual and Sound Aesthetics = that's pretty much what you are going for. It's doubtful you will actually see improvements with your $500+ drop in the bucket.

I wouldn't say the HKS is loud, it's not much louder than stock, but the sound is intoxicating. i love it. one of the best sounding exhausts i've ever heard.

Know what I was in your shoes about 3 weeks ago. Wanting an exhaust and didn't know which one.....I bought a Spoon exhaust. Very happy with it. Pretty loud, gets quiet when vtec hits, is only one exhaust pipe. No dual look. But I am very pleased with the way it came out.

I like the stock exhaust. It has a nice note and at the sacrifice of 3 hp I am happy to stick with it. You have to remember, this isn't a Civic. The S2000 is designed with more aggressive components so it doesn't need as much upgrading. The only go-mods I will probably ever do is SC or turbo. Bolt-ons dont do enough.

There are many exhaust out there so if you want power gains then you might consider single exhaust. Single exhaust offers much much better exhaust efficiency than any dual in the market.

I will suggest T1R , it comes with 63mm piping and probably the most power I see in the market for stock F20 engines.

I truly don't believe that not fully. I feel a lot more power now with the exhaust. And yes, I have taken it to the track and noticed a difference. And I am racing in Arizona and the night I raced it it was 100 degrees outside at 9 pm.

wrong, tuning + bolt ons=30+whp.

I didn't say tuning, I meant typical I\H\E bolt-ons.

You said "The S2000 is designed with more aggressive components so it doesn't need as much upgrading...Bolt-ons dont do enough"

When swapping out I/H/E with proper aftermarket parts, the only limiter is the ecu to make power. The aftermarket parts improve the performance of the engine but the ecu holds it back. They do make bolt-on ecu swaps. To "upgrade" these parts will net significant gains ~ 30+whp but as a package. So it would seem that simply through bolt-on parts, you could "do enough" to increase the output of the engine.

There is no way the limits of the F20C have been met at the factory. This rumor the engine being "max'd out" needs a 6ft hole and coffin for it's final resting place.

Well, that's what I mean. What I said is bolting on an intake, header, and exhaust you will not see nice gains. Tuned and a new ecu is a different story.

What ECU would you suggest?

easiest plug and play would be the mugen. Granted with that ecu, you'll want to be running "cooling mods" which include a cooler t-stat, higher pressure rad cap, and fan switch as well as a hondata intake manifold gasket with your I/H/E combo. It also helps to run at least 93 octane.

what is the dyno comparison of ? hard to imagine from a stock exhaust to an aftermarket one, stock yielding 11:1 a/f ratios vs aftermarket 12.9 ... seems like the +12hp came from leaner out the motor.

As for exhaust I have the dual ultimate racing and its a bit raspy due to lack of resonator but nonetheless pretty quite and 100% stock looking.

Our shop has the Invidia exhausts in stock. They sound great, a bit loud with out the silencer, but nice and quiet with it.

Do you just have an axle-back exhaust? If you have the complete Spugen exhaust, how can you have the "factory resonator" in the piping?
