Default Crowers 404's on Low CR JDM B20B?

Just like it says do u guys think its worth it for now to get the 404's and slap em in or will it just crush my static CR? I might lose low end significantly but I Wonder if i can get 10-15whp with some tunning I think it would be worth it. I Might do a N/A build later but who knows... thx for input.

They wouldnt be worth it. With the low cp of the b20b you wont come close to realizing the power of those cams. If your going to get an aggressive cam like the 404, do it right.

Yeah I want to do pistons but I cant have the down time, only car. Is it possible to do the pistons from the bottom? then i could dedicate a weekend to it and possibly get it done right

You can drop the pistons from the bottom, but you have to pull the head. Just do the cams. I'm sure you'll see some nice gains, even with the lower compression of the B20B. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the JDM B20B compression the same as a USDM B20Z?

the 8.8 CR will kill your idle. 9.2 CR is rough with the 404s, but when it gets to aroun 9.5 CR, the 404s will idle like stock.

see if you can get your hands one some ~9.5 pistons if you dont feel like going overboard

b20b= 8.8 compression
b20z= 9.6 compression

yeah, the Jdm 98 and under were 8.8 like US but yeah Im sure now Im doing a nonvtec all motor(mild) probably 11.1 pistons not huge or anything but thats in my budget for next year, this year I have left 404's, springs and maybe hondata/fpr/tuning, but not sure on that... So If my Idle will be really bad on the 8.8 Ill just set it to 1k no worries next year it will be rocking, year after that maybe full portn'polish and should be good to go. Thx the responses guys.

I also have a B20B and I've been eying up these cams for a while now. Is the lower 8.8 to 1 compression really gonna hurt me that much? Originally planned on boosting her but changed my mind due to costs. I'd rather spend the money on a hooker or two.
