visual difference between ITR and LS gearbox ??
I have found a 96 LS Integra at a salvage yard in North Carolina that I want to build into a track/race car but the owner of the yard claims he was told that the car has an ITR gearbox bolted up to an otherwise stock LS motor.
I asked him if he could confirm this but he nor I know what to look for short of tearing it down. He was told that the casings on 96-01 LS/GSR/ITR's are the same and he can't find any markings on it.
Can anyone confirm what to look for (serial etchings, tranny numbers....) without actually opening up the gearbox?
Greatly appreciated!

if its driveable, check speeds at rpms in certain gears, plus look to see if theres a diff... it should be clearly marked as an ITR tranny... not ITR but some code like y80 or somethin.
The ITR tranny also has an LSD so if you're able to drive it around, you should be able to tell...assuming you've driven a teg w/o an LSD.
Remember, b16 and b18c5 trannies share the same gear ratios; checking the speed at rpms in certain gears will only allow you to differentiate between LS/GSR/ ITR or Si trannies.
