Default quick newbie question on boiling coolant in resovoir

About 2 weeks ago my crx overheated. I noticed that the water in my resovoir is boiling out the top of the lid which eventually drains the coolant which causes it to overheat. does anybody know if a new resovoir lid of a new radiator cap would help. Sorry bout the newbie question but hey, im tryin.
Thanks

Other things to check, see if your fan is coming on, try running a coolant system flush with some water wetter.

If all of these things fail, it is likely that you have a blown head gasket. When you blow a head gasket, combustion gasses will make their way into the coolant and blow lots of bubbles into the overflow tank.
