Default OT: Prank Phone Call gone bad?

I just recieved a phone call from an anonymous person.

I'm not exactly sure if it was a prank phone call or not, but I just informed my manager and he's not taking it as a prank. The proper authorities has been notified and Bellsouth is going to print out a log sheet of all connected calls within the past couple minutes.

I sold 11 ITR transmissions in the past couple years I've been working for Baranco Acura. Out of all of those I only had one that needed warranty work. I have been working with the customer to fix the problem but to no avail. Basically every part sold out of our dealership comes with a parts warranty. 12 months or 12,000 miles is the basic parts warranty. Acura will replace it if it is indeed a manufacturers defect. It clearly states in our sales reciept about Baranco Acura's disclaimer of Warranties. It basically says, Baranco Acura is not the warranty company. We are a dealership. Acura is the warranty company. If they require a certain process for warrantying a part, that process must be done before they can issue a parts warranty. Parts warranty are that, PARTS, Not labor.

Well a this certain someone (Which I'm not sure who it is) decides to call me and threaten me with bodily injury and even death. "Ripping my head off for making false claims on warranty to sell parts." I personally do not care. But making a claim to harm or kill my family is a little cross the line.

My parts manager has asked me to request who is the responsible party. If no one has enough guts to admit it, ALL HONDA-TECH SALES will be suspended. No more factory discount. I'm sorry alot of good people have to suffer because of one lone wolf.

Joke around all day with me, but do not threaten to kill or harm my family. Public information is freely distributed over the internet and it's not hard to find where I live or where I work or where my family lives.

Moderators/Admins, I have the information to the customer with the complaint. Name, address, telephone number, and even his credit card info on file.

Len, who's dissapointed.

Because it's too strange to be a coincidence with a customer I'm currently dealing with. You don't call someone out of the blue 1 year later to threaten them, I figured by then, you'd at least cool off a bit.

Thats very unfortunate and very uncalled for. I would stick with your game plan and attempt to prosecute this person to the fullest extent possible. I have a good friend who was threatened over the telephone and eventually the person recieved 9 months and a 500 ft restraining order, and from what I hear that is a very LAX sentence.

I hope whoever did this is reading, because if you are, grow up. Everyone here deserves the right to recieve the community discount we've been getting for the past years.

i take it the threat had to do with a tranny? and that's how you know? otherwise, yeah, it'd be hard to narrow it down, even on here..

somehow I bet someone isn't going to come forward.. which sucks..

It's difficult to be a nice person sometimes. You give us favors but get crap in return.

Thats horrible. I was actually just gonna call to place an order. I would not treat it as a joke, however. What you did was correct

That seriously sucks ***. I hope that this person comes forward, becuase that is truly uncalled for. Stuff like this seriously makes me wonder why good people always seem to pay some type of price for the good that they do.

Just so you know Len, thanks a lot man for everything that you have done for all of us. Not everyone may be grateful ( to you a55h0le) but most of us are truly appreciative of the things that you do. Thanks man.
