KNOCK OFFS EVERYWHERE!!
Its been brought to my attention that companies that make a 'knock off' version of something is hated by most. Rota seems to be taking the most heat for knocking off rims. I too am not a Rota fan to much because....well they don't have a single authentic design and all are a knock off. Not only that they happen to go after the popular 'JDM' style rims and are so easily accepted among honda tuners.
I want your opinions
Let me clarify...I don't want a disscussion on which rims are better. I want your opinion and thought process for buying knockoffs. That's all.
Do you care if its authentic??
HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES:
MUGENS MF-10

KONIGS GREENLIGHT

ADR's MODELFLITE 5

ROTA's C-10

TENZO R PYSHCO

ANOTHER EXAMPLE:

WHEN IS IT TOO MUCH?? DOES ANYBODY CARE THAT THERE'S A KNOCK OFF OUT THERE FOR EVERY AUTHENTIC PART?? It bothers me because knock off parts are so easily accepted...

My opinion is, "who gives a ****?". I frankly couldn't care less if someone has a knockoff or a genuine JDM part on their car. In fact, the whole faggy little JDM craze is a big knockoff on its own. Why do you worry so much about it? You get what you want/like & let others do the same.

They dont just make wheels for Honda's, they are found on many cars now.

Thats alot of crap. There are thousands of sets of Rota's in circulation with minimal cases of damage/failure. Rota is a great company to work with, the stand behind their product and replace it if the product was at fault. Please explain to me why I should go spend $500 per wheel when I can get a set for the same price that look almost identical.

There is nothing fake about Rota wheels, they may be copies, but they are very solid wheels with thousands of hours of track time logged all over the country. They do what more expensive wheels do, only cheaper. The "fake" "replica" "knockoffs" do the job just as well, if not better. Its all about Value/$ ratio. Much like $/HP is important too, unless you own a honda

You dont seem to get it. There is no justification for buying the wheels that are 5x as much $. Name brand doesnt mean ****. I can guarantee you DC Sports has sold 10,000x more headers than Hytech. But the Hytech unit embarasses the DC Sports in terms of function.
Mugen wheels, Spoon wheels, you are buying a name.

Ok I hear all of you guys saying who cares.
But if you saw the real deal on a car....I know for a fact that there's some of you out there that would gawk at that car because they spent the money and time to get the authentic product.
RIGHT?

No, I would wonder why they bought wheels that are worth more than the value of the car in some cases or a very large percentage, makes no sense to me.

I think it's stupid that rota, tenzo, etc. can't make their OWN design.
The good thing about the "jdm" wheels being so expensive was, since they weren't affordable to everyone, you wouldn't see them on every other honda on the planet.
I would buy a wheel I like, but at the same time, wouldn't want to see it ALL OVER THE PLACE.

A car that is built up using only authentic parts who took a guy 3 years to get like that is just as good as someone who would rather buy the knockoffs? That makes no sense to me.
My definition of a quality car is someone who pays attention to detail when building the car. The parts that he/she chooses says alot about themselves. If a person builds a car with the most outragously expensive parts...IMO the deserve to get props on thier car over the person who builds it with knock off parts. NOT be called a dumbass for buying the REAL deal.

NO there isn't. There are 45846456465456 threads out there where people post thier ride and someone who could care less turns it into an arguement about fake and real cause of what they got on thier car.
What I'm trying to get at is...why settle for less?? IF you had the money would you get the real deal or would you still get the knock offs?

surprisingly that is a good point, being original coincides with spending that moo-lah, so when you wanna be different, you gotta shell out that cash.........
but if you dont really care about being different the rotas and tenzos and konigs are for you...............
i rock some konigs for now, but will still not be getting expensive wheels, i curb them all cuz i am not careful enough, so i wont shell out loads of money just for shoes

because if the rims look damn good, who CARES what name is says on it? if you're trying to be unique, buy ugly rims...i guarantee you no one else will have them. if you buy nice rims you think are unique, chances are someone else will see them and
1. buy a set just like yours
2. steal your set
so you'll be unique cuz you'll be riding on ROTORS instead of ROTAs.

thanks for adding this useless comment.
Listen guys...its not about rims. That was just the example. Its about knockoffs in general. What is your opinion about knockoff and copies or authentic parts. Does it bother anyone that there's a knock off for every authentic part out there??
