Default do I need "heavy duty" rear hatch supports/lifts?

I'm sure I'll get a lot of BS on this post about my wing being to big, but I guess I'll ask anyway. The rear hatch supports/lifts on my '94 teg are crap, so I bought another used set from a '97 Integra off ebay. I just installed them, and they are a little better, but still will not keep the trunk open. Do I need to buy some special heavy duty lifts? If so, where can I find them?
Thanks

They're different? No wonder my hatch is so hard to close w/o the wing on.... it's wierd, cuz the stock wing isn't all that heavy.

Check out auto parts stores, I know AutoZone carries a large assortment of hood and trunk supports, specifically made for different applications.

The supports you got of ebay must have been from a car w/o a wing, because the part numbers are indeed different. Carland Acura sells the GS-R supports for $52 each, or try an auto parts store.

wing is sitting in my attic, I was moving it around just the other day, it's not heavy (5 lbs at most maybe).

The ITR wing from Acura comes with new hatch supports. I bought the wing without the hatch supports and it won't open on it's own anymore. You can stop halfway and the hatch will sit there. So they actually are a little stronger. How much stronger? I dunno..

it's not a stock wing. it's a Kaminar wing. I don't know how much the wing itself weighs, but the hatch is heavy as hell to lift w/ the bad supports. I just called auto zone and they said $40 ea. for stock supports,

Easy fix.... Rip that wing off your car, problem solved. No I'm just kidding, I would use new OEM Supports (Wing Type) for the rear. I think the used supports you bought were worn out or at least getting there. Probably why there on eBay.
