Default S2000 vs Type R

I've taken one out. I was minding my own business at an intersection when a

yellow S2000 coasted bye and reved on me, so I followed him a few blocks and

when he looked in his rear view mirror I gave him a thumbs up trying

to give him props on a awsome choice of a vehicle, but he did not respond in the

way I expected. We came to a single lane intersection that had a 45 degree acute

angle left turn, and he took this left at such a high speed with a awsome looking

power slide nice oversteer and everything I was amazed so I did the same. I went

into that turn at about 45 mph (not as fast as him) and I wished I got it all on

camera. It was awsome I pulled strong through that turn with a little oversteer and

a little drifting and shot out of that turn like a pro. I was on his *** down this sigle

lane road and when we got to the light two lanes YIPPI , so we're at this light it

turns green we both get off the line as if we wern't racing, but as soon as I looked

over at him we both punched it!!! Through first we were even, in second I pulled a

bumper, at the top of 2nd got a couple more feet, when I threw it in third and was

still ever so slowly pulling on him he shut it down. I slowed down to tell him nice

run and as soon as we went through the next light he floored it again and made a

quick left. How I love his car it sounded awsome all the way up to 9,000 rpm's. I

want one so bad, but I'm saving up for a Z06.

I would've loved to have seen that on video

I could never street race, simply because i suck, if i go too far i'm in terrible probability of crashing, and i'm fully aware of what i can't do. So i simply don't do it.

I felt I was pulling nicely in third then he shut her down. I do believe that from a dead stop a S2000 would do better in a 1/4mile than my moded R, because they get better 60' times, but from a roll an R with I/H/E vs A stock S2000 is a much more closer race than you think, so on your comment, NO! I don't think he would've pulled on me. I mean I ran a 14.315 1/4 with a shitty 2.3XX 60', so from a roll it seems that it would be a much, much closer race IMO.

two points:

(1) as i tried to say before, the s2k has a better top end than the R. i am not speaking outa my ***...i've owned both cars. the s2k is faster than the R once you pass ~ 100mph. i agree that an I/H/E R would be a damn good match for an s2k below ~100.

(2) look at your trap speed with that 14.3 run. s2k's usually trap higher (98-101 mph), which is indicative of a better top end.

If your talking stock vs. stock, then yes I would agree, but I have been on the track(not 1/4) many times with an S2000 and I do have moods, being JDM header drop in filter. I have no problem with them pulling on me, if anything I pull a little. This S2000 was slightly mod'd, Exh, and Mugen filter, and scoop. This is with us both exiting the turn at the same speed(from 80mph to 130). When I had the same encounter with a stock S2k I did slightly walk away in the straight. They are Amazing cars though, don’t get me wrong. I run 14.1's the 1/4 with a trap of 98, this was a very hot day, so I think it could be better, but who knows. Maybe I got lucky and have a strong car. This is just my encounters with the S2k's I love those cars, for a stock car they are amazing! just my $0.02

I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but the S2000 is NOT THAT FAST! If anyone doubts this, feel free to ask Jack (B18CXr) about our experience in Atlanta as it was quite enlightening. I'm not a cocky person, but quite simply, we handed one owner his 455, bad!

For some time now, I've been under the impression that everyone pretty much accepted that stock S2000's, properly driven, can run high 13's in the quarter mile, whereas a Type-R (stock) can run anywhere in the low to high 14's. Are either of these conceptions no longer true?

lol...My post was in no way doggin you but with equal drivers I think all evidence points to the fact that a bone stock S2k is faster down a quarter mile strip than a bone stock ITR. Correct me if I'm wrong.

you r lame. you beat one s2k and you're suddenly the expert on all of them? no one but you seems to deny that the stock s2k is a slightly faster car than the stcok (or near stock) itr....but you must be correct because you "quite simply...handed one owner his 455, bad!"

I in no way said i was an expert, yet my encounter with one was definitely less than impressive.

They are nice cars, and in no way did I dog them. However, when someone posted that "an ITR has no chance against one", than I respectfully disagreed, and WILL EVERY TIME!

I agree that stock vs. stock, the S2000 should have its way with an R, and I never said otherwise...

Such hostility...

Also, don't make generalizations about people you've never met. You call me lame, why? I spanked an S2000, and posted that I did so. Why the hell should that offend you? I guess you must have one, huh? I think it's funny people get so angry at such a miniscule topic. Thanks for the laugh, though
