Default jdm type r B18C-R

i have been disputing between gsr or boosted ls. then i did some research and found a good reliable motor import site. i am now going to get the cheapest 94 teg i can find and drop in a japanese spec, type r engine B18C-R 210hp comes with tranny, ecu and other necessary parts for $4000 usd. i was just wondering if anyone has done this and knows of any probloms i might face, or if anyone has any info, tips or suggestions please let me know. also around how much would a garage charge to complete such a swap. can anybody find a cheaper way. http://www.totaljdm.com

Well i guess ill be the nice guy! Well weedboy, $4000 def isnt a bad price if that includes everything that you will need, but a shop could charge you as much as $1500 (and that a rough high guess) to put the motor in! Also in the right hand corner they're is this magical feature we have called search that if you press it and enter what your looking for, it brings up all kinds of information. We are not sure how it works but its amazing . Good luck and next time search first.

Sorry, what did your car run in the 1/4 mile?

And calling people names that are trying (or going to try) to help you is going to help?

If you are going to get a JDM swap, make sure the car you got has a wiring harness because the RHD JDM one is useless. I never really tell people to search, but you have a lot of questions that have been answered MANY times before.

First of all, note the sarcasm Mr Sensitive.

Second of all this link is the answer to all your problems.

And my 14.6 w/ an h22a in a 2800lb car mean that i'm making 180whp, at least.

The reason everyone came down on you is that there have been countless threads on this. Honda Tech has an amazing wealth of information in it's archives, which can be accessed by the search feature.

Trust me man. Give it a month and you will be extremely sick of telling noobs to search, just like the rest of us.

I just put the same motor in my 00 ITR. Only I paid 2500 for it It costs me alot of labor to take the motor out of a wrecked civic but it was well worth it. What kinda car is it going into? you mentioned something about finding the cheapest 94 teg but is that what you have to put it in? If so all I needed to have it installed was the wiring harness off a gsr, all the mounts from the teg becuz the motor I had was a 96 and it had civic mounts on it, a vtec silinoid(sp*) becuz the jdm ecu doesnt need the vtec pressure sensor and the usdm ecu needs it. So right now my car pulls really hard but vtec never engages because of the sensor not being there.I think thats ali so, other than that it all just stabs right in. Let me know if you have any questions. I may be able to help. good luck!

i see what u guys mean after searching i have found alot of info on this stuff. anyways it doesnt matter now because i scraped the idea and just bought a 96 gsr very happy with it, now all i need to do is find out how to make it faster than a type R . so instead of asking a question that has been asked probobly a thousand times i am going to search for the list of mods that will put me up there with a type R.
PEACE

Actually, the 1999-2001 JDM ITR does put out 210HP crankshaft. The 1996-1998 motor puts out only 200HP. And the USDM motor puts out 195HP. Remember that the 1999-2001 ITR has a better intake cam and the JDM ITR 4-1 header. The 1996-1999 JDM ITR only has a cast manifold.
