Toyo Proxes 4 Vs. RE-010
Anyone here owned both. Obviously the RE's are more expensive but right now I have the cash to spend. I'm liking how the Proxes are the lightest tire on the market, although I don't want grip and/or handling to suffer. I've always stayed stock w/ my R, any arguments as to why the Proxes are a better choice? Thanks -Ryan
i bought the Toyo Proxes T1-S on original rims.
I am happy with them but the RE-010 did have slightly better grip and never needed as much driving time to get warm.
However, I had to replace my RE-010 after 22000km and I've had my Toyo's for 19000km with approx 10-15K's left on them. My right foot was pretty lazy during their first 10K.
The T1-S handles good in the wet and also have good stopping power.
While not the Proxes 4, i hope this helped.

The Toyo Proxes 4 is an all-season tire. All season tires usually do not perform as well for dry traction or dry handling as the highest-performance "summer tires" like the Bridgestone RE010 or the Toyo Proxes T1-S, but they do better in rain and snow - particularly snow, for which summer tires are not recommended. That's the trade-off.
Personally, I think you're better off using a good summer tire (like the RE010, T1-S, or Azenis Sport), and if you live in an area that gets snow, getting a second set of wheels with winter tires for the winter.

I ordered two sets from tirerack and they both came damaged and cracked. Watch out when ordering RE's from them. Any other tire I've gotten from them has been perfect.

Toyo tires
They are the bottom pit brand in JDM so that is why they came to US to catch the
import scene introducting real crap like Nitto.
IF you got the bucks, spend it on know how like Bridgestone or Yokohamas!

What about the RA-1? They are the best HPDE tire out that balances grip, life and price.
I personally use the T1-S on the street but considering their great wet performance and the price I paid, they have performed great.

Hey, do you guys in the US get the RE711?
I have replaced my OEM RE010 with these, seem to have better grip and overall ride, though the turn in does feel a little sloppy, got them in 205/50. Not as quick as 195/55 RE010.
Just a suggestion if you wanna stay with Bridgestone. also every consider SO3, aren't they supposed to be top of BS range?
