im not quite sure wat to do to my ls...i dont know whether to go n/a or turbo... ive been researching for a few months on n/a ls and ive heard that they can be fast... if i were to go n/a id go with sum crower 404's, full crower valvetrain, p&p head, 3 angle valve, skunk2 intake mani, str cam gears which will cost around $900, and maybe sum ctr pistons later on down the road... but im really not familiar wit n e turbo setups... i havent studied much about turbo ls motors... ive heard many good things about 'em.. but i heard its pretty pricey... if i could get a good turbo setup around $1g then i would do that... but let me kno wat u think i should do to my motor... n/a or turbo..ive also heard from a guy on h-t that his friend got a turbo setup for his for around $600 and he put it on a stock ls and ran 13's w/ street tires..that sounds like a bang for the buck.. so if u ever come across sumthing like that please let me kno... thanks peace
Well ya going N/a would probably be alot cheaper then a turbo, yet a turbo is gonna be hard to find new for less then 2000 howeveer ive heard driving a turbo'd teg is fun and is worth it especially the ls which is practically made for turboing, however the choice is ures i'd personally save up about 2000 and look into getting a turbo kit
I'm having the same problem. I have A DA9 and I'm really wondering what I should do. So far, I have a CAI, cat back and I can run a decent 9.970 secs in the 1/8th mile @ 79.40 mph ( thats all we have here
) I want to do either NA or turbo. I did call Arias Pistons and they have a nice set up for Na. 11.8:1 compression pistons and the rings for $550. Call and Ask for Tom Jung(310) 532-9737
I'd Add Darton sleeves with that setup of pistons

i think a pretty good set-up would be b16 pistons on shot peened ls rods, balanced bottom-end, p&p head, crower 404's, dual valvesrings & retainers(crower)& cam gears, ported 95 ls intake mani w/ 95 valve cover, bored ls tb, and jdm dc sport 4-1 header. also with the needed fuel upgrade a good fpr, 330 injectors, maybe a new fuel pump(walburo), and hondata.
id say turbo because the amount of money that your goin to spend to go NA will be close to what you will pay for a turbo and the turbo will give you mass more power.

honestly if you're gonna go N/A, you'd better swap out that LONG GEARED LS TRANNY. go with a GSR or better yet a B16/ITR tranny if you're headed the N/A route. going N/A will surely cost you more in the long run, but your motor MAY last a bit longer than a turbo motor. another thing if you're planning on staying N/A with the LS motor and don't plan on doing an LS/Vtec...don't plan on breaking the 200whp anytime soon. it's gonna take serious compression along with some SERIOUS head porting for you to hit that mark.
on the other hand, you could just get a drag or fmax kit for $3000 new or $2500 +/- $500 used, slap that on your LS and push 250whp in an instant and run mid 13's to high 12's.
you could also do some research and build up your own turbo system for under $1000
