Planning ahead.....
Hi guys,
Currently I have a '93 JDM Si, basically the same as a GSR, with a few bolt ons,
Comptech Icebox, ITR TB, Skunk2 IM, DC JDM 4-1, De-cat, Mugen Catback. As well as suspension/brakes upgrades, Mugen skirts, front lip and ITR Spoiler. I also have buckets and ITR rear seats.
Recently I have been thinking about the path I want to take with the engine, done a bit of research and would like to know your feelings on the path I have chosen, whether it could be improved upon!?
Basically it is definately going to be an all motor, daily driver so I dont want it to be too noisy or have a lumpy idle. 250hp will be enough for my needs. I will be taking it on the odd track day, and on the strip every now and again also. Ideally Id like to be making power upto around about 9000rpm.
For the ECU I will be running the Hondata s100 or s200.
Now to rev this high I need higher compression and a strong block. So I think I'll be going for Eagle H-Beam Con Rods with JE Pistons, as well as a block guard for extra safety! I think its wise considering I'll be upping the rev limit.
For the valvetrain there is a company called KMS Engine Development doing a reasonably priced kit of Dual Springs, Ti Retainers, Stainless Steel Valves and valve guides. Has anyone used this before, or know if they will be up to the job!?
For the cams I was originally going to go for Toda Spec Bs but Im not 100% sure this is the best way to go for me anymore, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I also looked at Zex to keep the price down but Im not sure these will be strong enough. So what do you suggest, Crower maybe?!
With this setup do you think I will reach the power goals Im after while still keeping easily driveable to go from work and back every day?!
Im pretty new to the tuning and modifying game so anything I have forgot, decided to do something unnecesary, or if I have chosen the wrong parts to acheive my goals Id really appreciate it to be pointed out to me so that I dont make too many expensive mistakes.
Cheers guys.
Sorry for the long post!

Hi,
I know its a long post and most wont want to read it, but has anyone got any suggestions. By the way I was thinking 250bhp at the flywheel as I doubt this setup will reach that at the wheels.
Cheers, anyone?
