Default sprint hart cp transformation (56k = death)

since the cr-x is going championship white, i decided red wheels would match fairly well. i picked up some black sprint hart cp`s last week from ff-sean (thanks sean) and decided to spray them alfa romeo alfa red. even though it was my first time actually spraying without a spray can () i wasn't too worried...thankfully they turned out nice.

the guns:

brought the wheels home:

i took a can of paint stripper directly to the base coat while wiping the lip clean...

paint was being a bitch...

after a couple more coats of stripper, i finally got all the old paint off.

masking the lip was a PITA because of how deep it is...

with that said and done, it was time to primer.

i didn't want that orange peel effect, so i sanded them down as best i could.

quick shot of the color the wheels were sprayed...

first base coat done.

UPDATE - finished the 2nd base coat + 2coats of clear

drying...

sun-bathing

here we go...unmasked!!!

i'm going to let them sit for a day or two and dry completely so i can color sand the clear and polish the lip. i'll have pics up as soon as they're done!

loved them in black and in white.
not feeling the red too much, but your car will look so sexy with them on.

thanks for the kind replies, everyone. to EH2_519, the stripper i used is called PEELER. it's in a blue can (you can see it in the BG of the very first picture in the thread). and yea, midori, i have a thing for red wheels. i think these will mesh better, though, when the car is white.

oh man...........they look kind of pink.
well if your happy with them then thats good enough for me. im just not a fan of the red wheel trend, i would have left them they way they were. but you like em so congrats on the diy on the wheels.
