Sup peepz, I just Got an Si w/ a Gs_R swap, and I wanna know how I can tell if my motor is JDM or USDM. Mine does have a honda emblem on the stock black valve cover, but is there another way to tell?

Look at the block stamp. It should say B18C if its the JDM GSR motor, if its USDM itll say B18C1

 

is there better quality with the jdm b18?

 

slightly higher compression and 10 more horsepower nothing major.

 

don't all acura engines have the honda logo on the valve cover....i know mine does

 

if your engine is a 94 or 95 it wont have a block stamp tho

It has to have a block stamp. Its right next to where the tranny is, looks like a raised square.

 

ooops worded it wrong... not all engines some of them tho....

 

TY for the info guys. I just checked it, and it is a USDM it did say B18C1.
