what kind of lug nut should i use if i'm running arp extended wheel studs on my oem itr wheels? stock or aftermarket? would those muteki lug nuts work?

Stock, or stock style (same seat time) lugs.

Some honda lugs are open-ended, 90-93 accord, some Del Sol wheels, forget which others.

More specifically, for OEM Honda/Acura wheels, you will need lug nuts that have a spherical (ball) shaped seating area, to match the seating area on the wheels.

Most aftermarket wheels have a tapered (conical) seating area, and need lug nuts that have the same shape seating area.

 

 

good thing...i almost got those muteki lug nuts, i guess i'm not getting them til i get some new rims...how much do those oem lug nuts run? thanks a lot guys

The lug nut you need is 90381-SV1-901. They list for 0.74 at www.hondaautomotiveparts.com. That should cost you about $15+shipping.

Extended studs won't allow the OEM closed nuts to seat correctly. He's looking for an OEM style open ended ball/radius nut as indictated by Ken's nifty illustration above.

do they also make wheel locks for open ended ball seated lug nuts? where do i get them

I may never have use for this info..but I gotta say, it feels good to learn somthing..

 

all honda that came with a aluminum rims that has a center cap to cover the lugs are open ended. if the lugs are exposed, they are closed end.
but if you have a closed end honda nuts, you could pop the cover off. then it would be a open ended lug nut.

as long as your arp studs has the same thread pitch and size, you should be able to use oem lug nuts on oem wheels. after market wheels, go with what they recomend for their wheel.

 

i just put extented studs on my gsr and I cut the end peice of the lug for now untill i get the wheels i want. idea
