Default Stupid double-sided tape question

I did search and 3M seems to be the brand of choice for putting on body kits. My questions are:

1. Which type of 3M is the absolute best?
2. Someone said that heating it up with a dyer first makes it cling better...it this true.

its the dark grey stuff with the red/orange backing(tape) that you want to buy. dont get the white stuff. you can also get it in different thircknesses.just make sure the surface is really clean when you put it on heat dont matter(just dont put it on in the cold) it sticks really well, i used it on stuff that went through some rough western pa winters without a problem. just make sure you put whatever you putting on where you want it the first time because it aint coming back off.

The black might be more difficult to come by...try a auto body supply type place, but the grey will work just fine. No need to heat it up first, just make sure the two surfaces are clean and you don't put it on when it's cold outside.

3M also makes an adhesive promoter that you can wipe the surface with first, that makes it stick better. you can pick that up at home depot.

the black stuff with the red backing tape or the dark grey seems to work really good as long as you degrease and clean the surfaces....itll hold like whoa!! haha
