Default Is this a good header for me

94 RS with 92000 on it, mostly stock minus tires, wheels, suspension, ram intake, and short shifter. I'm looking at a DC Sports JDM 4-1 header. Right now exaust is all stock, but I'm planning on getting a KTELLER 2 1/2'' stainless system with carsound cat, and magnaflow muffler. So what does everyone think?

You have a good start, what are your plans performance wise and where do you want your powerband located? I am assuming you want more of a high power range b/c of the 4-1 header.

It all depends on what else you are putting on your car in the future....

cams? headwork? intake manifold? etc etc

The engine is a system, and you need the right parts to get it to work right....so if you are staying with the items you already have (including exhaust)....the 4-1 would work ok....you might lose a little power down low but at the higher rpms you will gain some....

generally 4-1 headers are better suited to the high revving VTEC engines because they spend more time in the higher rpms....a 4-2-1 header might suit your application better (mid to high end power) since the non-vtec B18b1 engine drops to about 4k at the 1-2 shift, and to about 5k at the 2-3 shift

good luck

I say spend more money on an exhaust rather than a magnaflow. No need to be stingy on an exhaust, your going to have to listen to it everyday so I suggest you get a nicer sounding muffler.

I am looking for more low to mid power, and thought the 4-1 was better. So I guess I was wrong. Someone asked me for plans on my motor? This is my daily driver, and Im going back to school in the fall. So I have to keep on budget. I was planning on building the short block with some higher compression pistons, and having some headwork done with mild cams. Also some tuning with the fuel system. I'm not going all out with the car, I just want to a little faster, and reliable. I only have about 3000 to invest in the engine. And with 92000 on it I dont think it would be reliable with forced induction.
