I'm struck by the close proximity of the walls. I also wonder what will happen to the poor bastard who launches himself off that banked fiasco looking thing. Fortunately (??) there's a wall over there to drivers' right to catch your now-totalled (or at least lacking an oil pan) car...

Theres a configuration that bypasses that turn. I don't know what they are using that turn for. . .

It will be interesting to see what it's like when we can finally run our karts there which is supposed to be in August. We'll see.

So who wants to place bets on it being done for Hyperfest?

i noticed the same thing. they should've reallocated the "launching pad" design and construction budget to pay for more runoff room.

Add me to the list of people who looked at that first picture and thought, "Well, not a lot of run off there!"

The one I think is the biggest concern is the wall to the outside of the right-hander following the banked turn. Assuming you do get the banking right, you will be *flying* out of that turn. You KNOW that somebody is going to come in too fast to that next right hander and go head on into the wall. It isn't an *if*, it's a *when*!

Matt

edit: is the track run counter-clockwise? If so, disregard my above concern.

Kind of a fair point -- we don't really know if some/most of those walls are on the track out or turn in points. There might be tons of runoff room where people usually need it. ...hopefully...

In my opinion that wouldn't fix it. The walls are still quite close.

I also like the tight corners that have the track doubling back on itself (last picture in the thread) such that a car in turn X could go off and land in turn Y. Good stuff

I think I'll pass.

Although it doesn't look promising, I think comments should be with held until the track is totally complete, unless you are talking about the "Nurburgring" turn, that one looks quite botched

I would assume they didnt put the concrete walls there for decoration.

Oh, I agree that they are still very close. My comment about "nevermind if it is clockwise" was specific to the paragraph that I wrote about the specifc turn after the banked turn.

I'll run it anyway, it looks like fun. After racing at the Glen for the last 5 years or so, I'm used to having walls right next to the track...

The walls are ummm "interesting"...........

I am glad to see that some more work has been completed.
<--- Hoping that it is complete for Hypefest so that another track day is not cancelled.

Supposedly there's a section of the total circuit that's been more or less guaranteed to be ready. That thing still scares me though.
