Anybody had their ITR repainted on this forum?
Just wondering how much some of you guys paid to have your ITRs repainted-- the whole car. Also, for owners in the Bay Area (CA): Can you recommend any body shops to get this work done at. I wanna paint my R OEM PY color and have it match the best it can using high quality paint like PPG or something...Anyone have any advice or info on this?

Shop in my area wanted $2000 to keep the same color. He told me it would only be $2600 for a complete change. This is for a 97 hatchback though.
I want to keep the exact same color, just a fresh coat all over the car and sealed with a nice clearcoat. So about 2000-2600? I was thinking close to 7000. Did you guys take all your emblems off and R stickers then paint...then replace everything? Also, anybody know what is involved in the paint prep? How do they clean the original paint surface and get it prepped before they paint over it?

hmm... why do you want to get your entire car repainted? Is something wrong with it? Did you get keyed? Unless something went tragically wrong, a 3 year old car shouldn't need to be repainted. Perhaps you just need to get the car detailed?
Well...I purchased my R second hand and there are a few scratches that go to the metal. Thats not really the reason I want to repaint it though. My hatch is slightly a diff color of PY than the rest of the car. Also, the front end has the normal wear and tear plus some. I was thinking of getting a JDM front end and then painting the car PY again so the whole paint job will match and I will have a fresh clearcoat. There some some minor scratches here and there that I wan't gone as well. I don't want to paint just spots because according to posts on this forum the paint will always be slightly off. Anyone know of some good body shops in the CA bay area?
